A lovely little vintage French folk art piece, full of rustic charm and character
Made from warm, naturally weathered wood, this miniature box features a sliding metal wire grille and a small metal carrying handle on top. The clever design allows the grille to slide up and down, transforming the piece from an enclosed wooden box into an open cage like structure.
With its aged wood and simple, practical construction, it has a lovely old world feel and would make an interesting addition to a collection of vintage curiosities. I can imagine it displayed on a shelf, tucked amongst other collected treasures or adding a little rustic character to a country inspired interior.
The miniature bird shown in the photographs is used for styling purposes only and is not included in the sale.
