Vintage 1950s Floral Needlepoint Tote|Knitting Bag with Wooden Frame
A lovely vintage find dating from the 1950s, featuring a colourful floral needlepoint bouquet on the front in beautiful shades of dusky pink, yellow blue and greens and a characterful wooden frame with integrated carry handles.
Originally made for keeping knitting and sewing projects together, this generously sized bag measures approximately 40cm long by 33cm high, offering plenty of room for wool, needles and other treasured bits and pieces.
I love the versatility of a piece like this, and it could be used in so many different ways. One of the small square wooden closure blocks has an old repair, secured with two small pin heads. This appears sturdy, and the frame remains fully functional. There is also some surface wear to the lower corners from years of use.
These imperfections are reflected in the price and form part of the story of this well loved and used vintage piece.
