Rooted in the nature-inspired Aesthetic Movement of the late 19th century, the intricate brown transferware design showcases a beautifully detailed bird in flight, blooming hawthorn blossoms, a dragonfly, and wild grasses. The edge is finished with a classic geometric and dotted border.
The reverse features the authentic, stamped T.G.B. garter and crown registry mark, firmly dating this piece to the late Victorian era before the McKinley Tariff Act required country-of-origin marking. Perfect for serving at a formal gathering or displaying on a gallery wall.

Individual Condition
These pieces are over 140 years old and show genuine signs of history. Staining, crazing, and structural lines are expected milestones of age for late 19th-century utility ironstone. Please review the individual photos carefully to note the distinct character of each size before purchasing.
Condition;
Small Platter (30cm x 23cm): Shows light surface utensil scratches to the front face from historical use. Features fine age-appropriate glaze crazing across the body, a shallow surface-level hairline crack restricted to the glaze on the back surface, and a single tiny nick on the outer rim edge.
Medium Platter (42cm x 32cm): Features a localized area of dark glaze staining near the top rim. Includes an edge crack at the top that structural goes through the clay body to the reverse side. The entire piece shows heavy, pronounced vintage glaze crazing and a slight edge chip.
Large Platter (46cm x 36cm): Presents distinct dark mottled patches/staining across the front face, common in antique ironstone where oils have penetrated the glaze over a century of use. The structure remains overall solid and stable.
